Add a nostalgic flair to your favorite listening environment with the
jWin JK-777 stereo. Sporting an old-fashioned console cabinet
reminiscent of radios from the '30s and '40s--along with sparkling
gold-plated front components and a polished wooden housing--the system
is ideal for folks who want to enjoy modern music formats without giving
in to high-tech design. Fortunately, the compatible formats are numerous,
as the console includes a three-disc CD changer, a three-speed
belt-drive turntable, a full-function cassette deck, and an AM/FM tuner.
The front-loading CD player handles the digital playback, with options
for random and repeat play along with several other common CD modes.
Track information is displayed on the two-digit LED readout, which sits
near three separate LED lights for each of the CD slots. LP enthusiasts can play their 33-1/3, 45, or 78 rpm albums on the
turntable, which comes with a ceramic stereo cartridge. Though not
loaded with extras, the turntable includes most of the basics, such as
auto stop, an auto-park phonograph arm, an up/down lift function, and a
rubber bottom pad that protects the discs from scratches. The four-track,
two-channel cassette deck, meanwhile, both plays your favorite
audiocassettes from decades past and records new ones from CD, LP, or
the radio. Rounding out the components is the AM/FM stereo tuner, which
features a full frequency range and an FM pigtail antenna to improve the
reception.
Audio-wise, the JK-777 features a pair of built-in side speakers (2.5
watts x 2) that bolster the system's old-time appearance. The console
also offers a small drawer under the main unit for holding manuals, CDs,
and other items, along with a 3.5 mm headphone jack for private
listening. The system measures 21.75 by 33.5 by 13.75 inches (W x H x D),
so it needs more room than the average bookshelf unit, but it's simple
to set up because it's entirely self-contained. It also weighs 40.79
pounds.
