The Eton Grundig E1XM AM/FM/Shortwave/XM Satellite Ready Radio was built
without compromise. As the world's first radio to combine AM, FM,
shortwave, and XM satellite radio technology into one
ultra-high-performance unit, the E1XM is in a class in its own. Offering
full, rich sound with the latest in satellite and shortwave radio
technology, the E1XM is in a league of its own. XM Satellite Radio
XM satellite radio delivers its coast-to-coast,
digital-quality service with more than 150 channels of music, news, talk,
radio, sports, comedy and children's programming. In addition to its
commercial-free music offerings, XM offers Major League Baseball, CNBC,
BBC World Service, Fox News, C-SPAN Radio, ESPN and much more. With the
Eton Grundig E1XM, you can receive continuous XM satellite reception of
the full range of music and news programming from around the world.
Unparalleled Reception
The Eton Grundig E1XM offers reception that's
unparalleled in portable/table-top radios. With a high dynamic range
that allows for detection of weak signals in the presence of much
stronger signals, a digitally synthesized PLL tuner with synchronous
detector and passband tuning, and selectable bandwidths (7.0, 4.0, and 2.
5 kHz), this radio offers extremely powerful and precise reception. To
make sure you can find the exact band that you're looking for, the Eton
Grundig E1XM also features 1700 station presets and a selection of
tuning modes that include a variable-rate tuning knob, direct keypad
frequency entry, up/down pushbuttons and a convenient auto-tuning
function. And a large 5.7-inch square, 240 x 320 pixel back-lit digital
display makes it easy to keep track of the radio's many modes and
functions.
Table-top Features in a Portable Design
At slightly more than four
pounds, and measuring 7.5 x 13 x 2.5-inches (H x W x D), the Eton
Grundig E1XM is small enough to accompany you wherever your travels take
you. But don't let that small size fool you! This radio is packed with
features usually reserved for much larger units. A stereo line-level
input lets you listen to other devices, such as a CD player, and a
stereo line-level output gives you the option of recording your
transmissions or routing the output to another device such as a home
stereo. Separate, continuous bass and treble tone controls enhance the
radio's own audio output, and a bridged type audio amplifier provides
high output power with battery or A/C operation. (The E1XM is powered by
four "D" batteries -- not included -- or with the included AC adapter.)
The radio also features dual programmable clocks as well as dual-event
programmable on/off timers that can be used for recording or as an alarm
clock. It also includes a built-in telescopic antenna for AM, FM and
shortwave reception, and an external connection for the addition of
auxiliary antennas, such as professionally engineered shortwave,
long-wire shortwave or other specialty antennas.
Note: A subscription to XM satellite radio (sold separately) is
required to access XM programming.
